Poker Buy-in Settlement Calculator

A settlement tool for home poker games. It does not track hands — just buy-ins and final chip counts — then works out who pays whom and warns you if the chips do not balance.

How settlement works

Each player’s result is final chips minus total buy-ins. Buy-ins are counted in units and the unit size lives in settings. Everyone’s results must sum to zero, because the chips on the table are exactly the money that went in.

If it does not sum to zero somebody miscounted, and the tool tells you exactly how far off you are along with the totals in and out. This one check saves more arguments than anything else at 2am.

Multiple sessions in one night are fine — log each as its own row and settle them together at the end. Transfers are minimised: n players never need more than n−1 payments.

Common questions

Can it track individual hands?

No, and it should not. Nobody logs every hand at a home game; the only moment that causes arguments is the cash-out, and that is exactly what this solves.
